Welcome

This is where I get to know you and your dog. I will observe you and ask some questions about your dog and the issues you are facing. Then I will use the information to build your tailored profile and training plan(s). I will also give you some on the spot advice and demonstrate some helpful training techniques to get you started!

This package consists of four, one hour long, sessions. During these sessions I will introduce you and your puppy to the basic lessons that every puppy should learn in order to grow into a well behaved, happy and well rounded adult dog. I will show you easy and positive ways of training your puppy to pay attention to you, learn their name, come to you, sit and leave things. These behaviours are key to building a good relationship with your puppy and to keeping them safe!

This session requires completion of a Green Dog Training 'Starter Session'. The aim is to use positive, force-free training, tailored to the needs and learning styles of yourself and your dog, to resolve problem behaviours. A personalised incident diary is provided to you so that we can keep track and narrow down behaviours. A 'Training Plan' is also included which outlines the the proposed path to success.

This package requires completion of a Green Dog Training Starter Session. It consists of four, one hour long, sessions, tailored to the preferences and learning styles of you and your dog. The aim is to teach your dog particular tricks/skills that you might require, using positive methods. This differs from the Behavioural Package as in this case the dog does not have an emotional issue to be resolved. The package includes a simple 'Training Plan' as a reminder of the positive methods used.

Puppy Nursery (Bronze Level) - Pups aged 3 to 9 months

Puppy Pre-School (Silver Level) - Pups aged 6 to 24 months

Pooch School (Gold Level) - Pooches aged 24+ months

GDT Juniors is an activity club for children aged 5-11 years based in Seaham. The club is focused on having fun whilst training pet dogs and helping children to stay safe around dogs.

I will consider the needs of yourself and your dog e.g. by using a leash or allowing off leash time, using the treats that your dog prefers and taking heed of any warnings. Whilst on the walk I will teach leash skills such as loose leash walking or walking to heel if preferred and I will provide recall training or doggie games if off leash. I aim to use an enclosed area to walk the dog off leash for safety reasons and I clean up using  compostable poop bags to help prevent plastic pollution!

This is a shorter walk for those dogs (such as elderly dogs) who require less exercise. I will always consider your needs and wishes, for example in terms of leash and treat use. I will also encourage good manners on the leash and involve loose leash training. If off leash walking is preferred I will do so in an enclosed area for safety reasons. To clean up I like to use our compostable poop bags to prevent plastic pollution!

Price per half an hour. I can pop in to care for your cat whilst you are away! Cats can get lonely if you are away for long periods of time and benefit from play time and cuddles as well as fresh food and water. I can also offer advice on training and resolution of behavioural issues. Longer, tailored sitting options available, please get in touch!

I have a keen interest in herpetology and over 10 years  experience in caring for a range of reptiles (as well as amphibians and invertebrates). I am available to offer advice on any issues you may be having with your pet, I can also care for your pet if you are going away for a while.

I have around 20 years of experience in caring for small animals so I truly understand how much they value routine and appreciate a cuddle and their treats. I also recognise how important it is for small animals to have fresh food and water, as well as space and time to run, jump or play whichever way they like to get exercise in their day. I have experience with rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs, chickens, fish, salamanders, axolotls, tarantulas, parrots and frogs!
